Missions and Community Outreach at The United Church

About Missions and Community Outreach at The United Church

We promote the Gospel of Jesus Christ locally, nationally, and internationally, primarily, but not exclusively, through our two denominations, the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and the American Baptist Churches USA.

Emphasis is placed on evangelism, social justice, and acts of mercy. We provide both financial and prayer support to missionaries and for mission projects around the world. Members of the church, both adult and youth, bring the love of Christ to others by participating in mission trips. The United Church helps finance those missions trips.

On the first Sunday of each month we collect non-perishable food items which are given alternately to Canandaigua Churches in Action and The Salvation Army to be distributed locally to those in need.

Who We are at The United Church

The United Church is a strong community of Christians who seek to glorify God.
Our mission is, "That All Might Know, Love, and Follow The Lord Jesus Christ as Their Personal Lord and Savior."
We seek to do this in a number of ways:

Worship

We worship the Triune God in Spirit and Truth (John 4:24). Worship involves submitting ourselves to God as the Spirit empowers us.

Grow

We must grow in our faith, training ourselves to distinguish good from evil. (Hebrews 5:11-6:2, 1 Peter 2:2, 1 Corinthians 3:1-3)

Reach

Jesus sends his followers out on mission for God. We must carefully discern how God might call us to invite others into His Kingdom. (Luke 10:1-20, John 20:21)

Care

As a Christian family, we must bear one another's burdens (Galatians 6:2). Walking alongside each other to meet spiritual and physical needs is at the center of who we are.
